Dr. SchulakDr. Schulak was born and spent his childhood in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Antioch College in Ohio in 1965 with a B.S. in Chemistry and from Yale Medical School in 1969. After internship and several years of residency at the University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals in Seattle, he spent 2 years as an Orthopaedist in the USAF Medical Corps at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, Texas.

While finishing his orthopaedic residency at the Affiliated Hospitals of the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, he spent time with Drs. Ian MacNab and Joseph Schatzker, two renowned orthopaedic surgeons in Toronto, Canada.

He then moved to Chicago and was appointed to the full-time orthopaedic faculty at Loyola University Medical Center. He moved to Tampa in 1979 and began private practice as well as teaching at the USF Department of Orthopaedics as a Clinical Assistant Professor from 1981 to 1986. He has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1982 and was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons from 1986-2005. He has authored multiple orthopaedic presentations and articles.

He has been an Expert Medical Advisor for the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation since 1996 and is Listed in America's Best Doctors, 2006-Present.

Dr. Schulak enjoys fitness pursuits, computers and the study of science and history. He lives in Temple Terrace with his wife Carole and their cat, Hidey. His daughter Hilary works in Birmingham, Alabama and his son Jonathan and wife Jennifer have a newly-born son and live in Delaware. The office is located in north Tampa next to Florida Hospital Tampa.


Dr. Companioni

Dr. Companioni Dr. Companioni was born in Havana Cuba and spent the first years of his life there. He and his family moved to Florida in 1960. With the exception of college he has been a Tampa resident since then. He is a 1970 graduate of Jesuit High school and graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in 1974. Dr. Companioni graduated from the University of South Florida Medical School in 1979. He did an internship and four years of residency at the University of South Florida and its affiliated hospitals. In 1984 he began his private practice in Tampa. He became board certified in 1986 and was elected Fellow to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 1988.

Dr. Companioni has been board recertified in 1996 and 2006. During his years of private practice in Tampa he was appointed an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at University of South Florida and served as Vice Chief of Surgery Subspecialties at University Community Hospital. He is a member of many professional associations. He has authored multiple orthopedic presentations and articles.

Dr. Companioni is an avid sports and fitness participant. He loves spending time with his wife, Patricia and his two daughters, Lisa and Lauren, who are also involved in the medical field.
